This is an easy way to increase tables of two to tables of four. On average, a bottle of wine will cost you between £2 and £6 pounds. It costs the customer between £8 and £15 and a table of four may well buy 2 bottles. By offering one free to the parents, you may well find the group spend the money saved on something else, like dessert or even a bigger tip!
You might decide to restrict the offer to house wines in which case this should be clearly stated. Make clear any other restrictions, for example, ‘only one bottle per four adults dining’ and state days or times when the offer doesn’t apply if you decide to exclude peak periods.
Make sure staff find out who the parent(s) is/are so that they can give them a bit of extra special attention.


Free wine for the folks
Most of us have parents; some of us even still live with them! Taking them out to lunch or dinner is great way of showing appreciation and we should all do it more often.
